Five Night Silent Retreat
“Take the time for this, its worth it!”
— Dr. B. Renee Dugger, Retired Nursing Professor
The 5-night residential Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) retreat includes meditation instruction, short talks by the teachers, guided mindfulness meditation practices, including sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful movement exercises and mindful everyday activities. Participants will keep sacred silence throughout the 5-night retreat. There will also be opportunities for occasional group conversation and individual conferences with the retreat facilitators.
The retreat is modeled on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) principles developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the Center for Mindfulness in the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Note: Prior experience with a personal meditation practice is highly recommended. If you are new to mindfulness practice or would prefer an introductory program, you may consider the one day introductory workshop, a weekend retreat, and/or the 8-week MBSR course.
